While camping in the Provence this summer, I stumbled on several crates at a ‘vide grenier’ in the city of Aups at the local coffeeshop. They were full of freetekno, tribal and breaky shit! These genres were very big in France in the early 2000s. Collectives or ‘tribes’ used to organize typical soundsystem raves in old warehouses, random fields or forests. These so called ‘squat parties’ were mostly illegally. A lot of the twelve inches I bought come from the legendary World Alchemist Records in Toulon. I’m hyped to take the occasion of my solo-return after more than a year of absence with an hommage to this cultural movement!
