Next up on Gallery Noise is multimedia & performance artist Magdalena Petrova! She was born in 1995 in Veliko, Turnovo, raised in Sofia, BG, and is based in Rotterdam in 2016. Her creative journey has been deeply influenced by the interplay between her animistic Bulgarian heritage and the complexities of her upbringing amidst the transformative shadows of post-Soviet reality and mystical mountains. Magdalenas’ work manifests, whatever its form, as rituals, and experiences; inviting audiences to explore paths of transcending above fear and celebrating shapeshifting and perseverance. For Gallery Noise, Cecile van Bruggen invites a Rotterdam based artist to talk about their life and practice. She asks her guests to deliver sounds and songs that can guide their conversation, resulting in an interplay of stories and sounds that invite you into their world.
