MAMA - Threads of Loss, Patterns of Return

Threads of Loss, Patterns of Return is an exhibition about diasporic stories of uprooting, queerness, and the often fragile yet enduring connection to cultural heritage. How do you cope with longing for a "home" that no longer exists – or was never truly within reach? And how do you continue to relate to a background that is constantly shifting? In this Operator Takeover, the curator and artists reflect on the exhibition and what it has set in motion. We are making this show after the exhibition ended – to pause and reflect on what was stirred up. Because just because the exhibition has ended, doesn’t mean the conversation does too. On the contrary – perhaps it’s only just beginning.
