POING FESTIVAL takeover - Talks by Cara Mayer w/ the POING team, the Ark Rave Crew & R3LN4CHT

Airdate: 10.08.2025
Tune in this Sunday (10.08.2025) for a 9-hours POING FESTIVAL takeover on Operator Radio — live from the heart of Rotterdam. For the first hour, Cara Mayer will chat with the POING team, the crew from Ark Rave and R3LN4CHT about their projects and role at the festival.
On August 30 - 2025, we take over Brutus for the very first edition of POING FESTIVAL — our most ambitious project yet. Across six stages, both indoor and outdoor, we’ll push boundaries with a multidisciplinary program of music, performances, and immersive light designs that will transform every corner of this raw, industrial playground. This festival is more than just an event — it’s a celebration of our community, a reflection of everything we’ve built together, and a bold leap into new territory. Set within the concrete cathedral, intimate art warehouses, and playful sculpture garden of Brutus, POING FESTIVAL will offer countless spaces to explore, each bringing something unexpected.
Connor Schumacher is a Dance Artist based in Rotterdam, NL. The artistic director of ARK/Connor Schumacher and has previously been an associate maker with Dansateliers in Rotterdam (2012-25) and inclusive theater group Theater Babel (2021-24). ARK is not situated in house by Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. From 2025-28 ARK has been granted structural subsidy from Fonds Podium Kunsten and Gemeente Rotterdam. Connor makes Social Choreographic works for Theater, Museums, Festivals, and Clubs. All activities are situated in different and overlapping contexts, where the higher goal is to get people moving, physically and mentally.
R3LN4CHT is a modular collective rooted in (queer) nightlife and contemporary pop- and visual culture. R3LN4CHT makes theatre performances, experimental work, club nights, and community meetings. They consider their work a hybrid art project that moves across various contexts. Work completed under the vision of R3LN4CHT is explicit, demands active spectatorship, and questions the codes of artistic spaces.
