Shasti

Shasti (they/dia) is Jakarta-born transdisciplinary artist, performer, and organizer based in Germany, as well as the co-founder of @nusaqueerdiaspora. Their/dia’s artistic practice explores monstrosity through diabolic vocal engineering and sonic hauntings, as exercises of a re-embodiment vision that links queerness with animistic intelligence and political rage. Ancestrally drawn into fast-paced, cathartic, and possessing music, Shasti’s mixes weave infernal, gothic and utopian dance music like artcore, hardcore, trance, noise and more, with gamelan and j-core infused funkot.
