Dj Watusawa

DJ Watusawa plays records since 1998 under different names, co-founded Amsterdam's notorious Lemon Community rave collective (2005-2014) which made its own waves in the Dutch acid/electro/rave scene. With Lemon Community he curated and played alongside national and international musicians such as I-F, Ceephax Acid Crew, Dynamix II, DMX Krew, Bogdan Raczynski and dozens more on their festival appearances and their own raves. He played on festivals such as Sónar, Incubate, Rewire, Mysteryland, Amsterdam Dance Event and in venues such as Paradiso, Melkweg, OT301, Studio 80, OCCII and Paard van Troje. Over the years, DJ Watusawa encapsulated more and more styles and genres into his sphere, taking musical voyages from non-Western global sounds to outright psychedelic madness. Always a firm believer in the power of radio, he broadcasted radioshows on Red Light Radio, DFM, Red Bull Music Academy Radio, DJBroadcast radio and other channels. Since moving to Barcelona in 2010, he found his current moniker, runs labels Zona Watusa & Selvamancer and continues to broadcast radio, currently on Dublab and Repeater Radio.
