LYLO is a dancer and a clubgoer at heart. To her, the feeling of connection and understanding when the right people, music, and energy come together, is pure euphoria. Community is the word here. Her DJing began as a way to recreate that euphoric feeling in community and pay tribute to the origins of her favorite genres. Now, music has also become a space for connection and exploration within music. She investigates the realms of space, bass, technology and percussive grooves and pays tribute to the original sounds of Chicago and Detroit. In her mixes LYLO honors everything that has shaped her: her African heritage, the underground club scene, and technology. An Afrofuturistic perspective. She blends the past, present, and future.
