QUANZA

Quincy Fung-Loy (born 30 September 1994), known mononymously as QUANZA, is a Dutch-Surinamese guitarist, producer, composer and Musicology student at the University of Utrecht. After hearing Jimi Hendrix for the first time, QUANZA began teaching himself how to play guitar at the age of thirteen. As an improvisational artist, QUANZA draws inspiration from artists like Shabaka Hutchings, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah, and Paco de Lucia. However, his eclectic musical vocabulary resonates through his productions as he combines live instrumentation with electronic music. As a result, his music fuses different aesthetics that range from Free Jazz and Hip-Hop/Trap to Nuevo Flamenco and Footwork.
