Upcoming event: 29.10.2024 - 11:00
Raghoul is a progressive digital label and collaborative platform dedicated to promoting bass music, art, and bass-rooted cultures. Founded to bridge the gap between the creative processes of artists and the business-driven operations of traditional record labels, Raghoul offers a personalized, non-hierarchical experience that prioritizes artistic authenticity.
Raghoul strongly opposes all forms of discrimination, including racism, queerphobia, misogyny, fatphobia, and ableism, fostering an inclusive and stimulating environment for marginalized communities. The platform prioritizes the mental well-being of artists and promotes transparency, accountability, and continual learning.
The word "Raghoul" originates from the Amazigh language, meaning "bass," and refers to the first string of the guembri or sintir, a key instrument in Gnawa music. With roots in both Morocco and the Netherlands, Raghoul champions innovation, experimentation, and collaboration, empowering young, independent artists from diverse disciplines to freely explore their creative potential. Raghoul's global reach celebrates a shift away from Eurocentric perspectives and supports the next generation of artists in a way that honors their cultural contexts.
