Roland (k.cast)

Roland is a researcher and videographer based in Rotterdam. His work encompasses Dutch Early Modern transatlantic slavery, the (ideological) roots contemporary corporate-state tyranny, racism and ecocide and music history. In 2025 Roland established the media project k.cast. This project seeks to connect academic knowledge production, activism and art through the creation of democratised, accessible media content. K.cast primarily seeks to uncover histories of music and music culture from across the world in order to provide lessons for artists and communities today. Upholding this is a belief that music sovereignty and networks based on solidarity rather than billionaire profit will inevitably lead to an array of positive changes - music being a force that energises and keeps us together.
