Sami Sameer

Sami Sameer (he/him) is a multidisciplinary sound artist from Muscat, Oman, and is currently based in Barcelona. He moved to Barcelona several years ago to study engineering. Growing up, Sami learned orchestral and jazz percussion, sparking his deep relationship with music, driven by his brain's constant need for stimulating sounds. This obsession with unpredictable rhythms and the chaotic spirit of the music he studied laid the foundation for his artistic journey. Sami is deeply involved in Barcelona's vibrant underground scene as a musical artist. He utilizes percussion, production, and DJing as mediums to share and experiment with sound. As a DJ, Sami is making a name for himself with appearances in various underground projects, including Dos Dos Radio, Jokkoo Collective, and Zilzal Platform. His sets are known for their abrasive and industrial textures, seamlessly traversing genres such as deconstructed club, noise, dubstep, breaks, and ambient. He also draws inspiration from his musical upbringing and his Latinx and Middle Eastern roots.
