ZOBAYDA

ZOBAYDA is an Egyptian DJ and artist currently based in the Netherlands. In their creation of space with music they honor the tradition of bringing people together through rhythm and percussion. With the focus on energy instead of genre, they mix an array of beats and sounds with influences from around the global south and its diaspora. Further mediums that encapsulate ZOBAYDA's creative expression are filmmaking, photography, production and direction. “I see art everywhere” they say, as they refuse to distinguish the various worlds they are a part of. There is beauty everywhere, and they choose what to release intuitively in the moment. Hoping to contribute to many revolutions and create an archive of our changing worlds.
