Calling Rotterdam his homebase where he draws inspiration from the gritty, dark and industrial image of the harbor-city as well as the cities richness in diaspora music. Whether it’s a closing set at in a dungeon-style basement such as the new export club where he drew upon the more unpolished, synth-fueled, gloomy section of his record collection to fill his bag with dark italo, mutant machine funk, early rave and ESP Records-style house/techno crossovers with analog synths and raw bass-lines. Or an extended 8-hour all vinyl set with his other half DJ Klapsalon as The Low G Court exploring the craft of instinctive transitions, genre-transcendent musical story-telling moving between electronix and organix, all linked by the same common denominator: consistent dance floor impact.

In any case it’s the symbiosis with the audience that counts the most. Finding himself in a constant game of pushing and pulling. Sometimes comforting, more often confronting and daunting while maintaining an infectious and endless energy that is needed to mix vinyl records only. With ten years of experience as a dj, curator and host, a vast and versatile record collection ranging from breakbeat to bollywood and progressive house to post-punk and an impressive gig history of venues and festivals such as Poing, Skatecafe, Perron, NAR, murmur, Onda, Fréquence (FR), Wildeburg, Down The Rabbit Hole, Tragin (Austria), Blijdorp Festival and North Sea Jazz, you could say doo-bop has earned his spurs in the game.
