LAZA is a Producer/DJ hailing from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Being inspired by the warm harmonies, melodies and rhythm found in the musical spectrum, he developed an ever-growing interest in music from a young age. His selections and productions are defined by a sincere yet experimental sound, rooted in House and Electronic Music with shades of Disco, Funk, Jazz, and Broken Beat - with House as the framework. Having released music on United Identities, Darker Than Wax, Rhythm Section and INI Movement, LAZA has garnered support with the likes of Carista, Dean Chew, Ruby Savage, & Lea Lisa amongst others.
His previous release “Reflections” EP was celebrated at the local well respected Amsterdam venue Radio Radio. Other venues that showcased his work are Doka, SISSI’s, Phono Lake and Multipla. He recently organised his own “Chronicles Of Lazaland” club night at SISSI’s sharing the decks with Zopelar (BR). His newest project “Therapy” - an EP consisting of three tracks - is set to release early October on United Identities. The first track - “When My Mind Overflows” - is a deep yet heavy downtempo house groover with acid basslines, hard-hitting drums, spoken word and powerful vocals. After the instrumental version comes the third track “Try”, a more soulful, joyous track with a motivational message when listening to the lyrics. The EP title hints the overall theme of the EP, as music has always been therapeutic to LAZA and a red thread and important outlet throughout his life.
His monthly residency on Operator Radio demonstrates the versatility of his sound even further. Now for nearly three years taking you on a two hour journey every time, through the eternal musical playground that is “Chronicles Of Lazaland”. He’s had the honour to host guests with the likes of Suze Ijó, Zopelar, Kléo, Dean Chew (SG). The monthly guests accentuate not only his sonic palette, but also his values for exchange, community and pure love for music that he shares with them and the listener. It’s an ongoing journey and he really just loves the process of it all.
